SAMETI Training Programme on Natural Farming

SAMETI successfully conducted two batches of a 4-day training programme on Natural Farming for Agriculture & Allied Officers. The sessions took place from 18–21 March 2025 and 25–28 March 2025, focusing on sustainable farming practices and eco-friendly agricultural techniques. This initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of officers in promoting natural farming methods.


One Day Training on Drone Application in Agriculture

One day training on Drone Application in Agriculture (Namo Drone Didi Scheme) was held on 20th March 2025 at KVK, Selesih. The programme was organized by State Agricultural Management and

Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Mizoram in collaboration with Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Department, MzSRLM and KVK-Aizawl. The training is funded by NABARD Ro Mizoram. 

The Inaugural Programme was graced by the Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Gov’t. of Mizoram Pu PC Vanlalruata as Chief Guest, Pi Ramdinliani, Spl. Secretary, Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Gov’t. of Mizoram, chaired the programme; Prof. Lalnuntluangi Hmar, Dean, C.V.Sc. & A.H., CAU, Ms. Pankaja Borah, General Manager, NABARD, Mizoram Regional Office, Pi Lalengzami Haolai, Jt. Director, Department of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Gov’t. of Mizoram. Pu Lalringliana, Joint Director, Agriculture & Farmer's Welfare Department, Pi Lalnunpuii Parte, Director, SAMETI, Dr. Zomuankima, Chief Operating Officer MzSRLM , officers from the Departments of Horticulture, Land Resource, Soil& Water Conservation, Cooperation, Sericulture, KVK –Aizawl and SHGs to be nominated as Drone Didi Pilot, Assistants and Block staff of MzSRLM attended the Training program.

Hon’ble Minister Pu PC Vanlalruata inaugurated the programme and expressed his gratitude that such scheme is available for farmers through the Namo Drone Didi scheme of the Central Government. He said that the scheme will empower farm women as leaders in the field of agricultural technology and agricultural sustainability. He also urged the training providers and participants to ensure that the drone initiative will lead to greater progress in food security and sustainability.

Pu Lalringliana, Joint Director, Agriculture & Farmer's Welfare Department highlighted the Namo Drone Didi scheme and its implementation plan in Mizoram. Ms. Pankaja Borah, General Manager, NABARD, also extended her appreciation and mentioned that NABARD was ready to continuously offer support and cooperation in the field of agricultural development. Dr. Zomuankima, Chief Operating Officer, MzSRLM also presented the formation of Self Help Group Cluster Level Federation in 10 districts of Mizoram. Prof. Lalnuntluangi Hmar, Dean, CVSc. & AH, Selesih motivated the trainees and said that Mizo youths are naturally strongly adaptable to the use and control of equipments. She advised them to have the 'I can do it' attitude so that the latest technologies can be utilized efficiently and effectively in the state. Pi Lalengzami Haolai, Joint Director delivered the vote of thanks during the programme.

The training was attended by selected Self Help Group members from Aizawl, Lunglei, Champhai, Kolasib, Serchhip, Mamit, Saitual and Khawzawl Cluster Level Federations under MzSRLM. Dr. Jotish Nongthongbam, Subject Matter Specialist, (Agriculture Engineer), KVK Aizawl gave theoretical orientation and practical demonstration on Agriculture Drone operation and maintenance.


Online Training programme on “Integrated Plant Health Management” in collaboration with Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Mizoram, during 12-14th October, 2021

State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Mizoram successfully conducted three (3) days online training on “Integrated Plant Health Management” in collaboration with Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Mizoram, during 12-14th October, 2021

The program was chaired by Mr. Vala T Thanhnuna Tonson, Faculty (IT), SAMETI, Mizoram and Mr. C. Lalnithanga, Director of SAMETI, Mizoram delivered inaugural speech and inaugurated the training program.

A total of 35 participants (Male = 21, Female = 14) from Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture Department, KVK, ATMA, FOCUS, NEIDA middle level officers and extension functionaries successfully completed the training.


Online Training programme report on “Personal Responsibility & Work Ethics for Extension Functionaries”, October 5-7, 2021

State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Mizoram successfully conducted three (3) days online training programme on “Personal Responsibility & Work Ethics for Extension Functionaries”, during 5th – 7th October, 2021.

The program was chaired by Ms. Vanlalramchhani Chhangte, Faculty (PHT) SAMETI, Mizoram and briefs the participants about the training programme and Director of SAMETI, Mizoram, Mr.C.Lalnithanga, delivered the inaugural speech and inaugurated the training programme.

A total of 38 participants (Male = 24, Female = 14) from Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, KVK, ATMA, FOCUS, NEIDA middle level officers and extension functionaries successfully completed the training.


Training Report on “Post Harvest Management and Processing of Fruits and Vegetables” during 14-16th Sept, 2021

State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Mizoram successfully conducted Three (3) days online training on “Post Harvest Management and Processing of Fruits and Vegetables” during 14-16th Sept, 2021.

The program was chaired by the course Co-ordinator, Ms. Vanlalramchhani Chhangte, Faculty (PHT), SAMETI, Mizoram and the online training programme was inaugurated by Mr.C.Lalnithanga, Director of SAMETI, Mizoram.

A total of 55 participants (Male = 15, Female = 40) from KVK, ATMA, FOCUS, NEIDA, Clover Organic pvt ltd, MZU, Entrepreneur, RIPANS, Nagaland university,  successfully completed 3days online training programme.


Online Training on 'Extension Approaches for Entrepreneurship Development in Agriculture and Allied Sectors', during 31st Aug - 2nd Sept, 2021

 State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) Mizoram, Aizawl successfully conducted Online Training on 'Extension Approaches for Entrepreneurship Development in Agriculture and Allied Sectors' during 31st August- 2nd September, 2021. The training was meant for middle level officers of Agriculture and allied departments and extension functionaries. 

The program was chaired by Course Co-ordinator, Dr. B. Lalrosiami Khuhly, Faculty (AEM) SAMETI, Mizoram and Mr.C.Lalnithanga, Director of SAMETI, Mizoram inaugurated the programme. 

A total of 24 participants (Male = 19, Female = 5) from AH&Vety, Fisheries, KVK, ATMA, FOCUS, middle level officers and extension functionaries successfully completed the training.

Collaborative online Off-Campus Training programme on "Efficacy of FPO -

Extension Methods and Tools", during August 23-26, 2021


 Extension Education Institute (EEI) NE Region, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, and SAMETI, Mizoram conducted four (4) days collaborative online Off-Campus Training programme on "Efficacy of FPO -Extension Methods and Tools" during August 23-26, 2021. The training was meant for middle level officers of Agriculture and allied departments and extension functionaries. 

The program was chaired by Dr.S.Borua, Asst.Professor (SG), EEI (NE Region). Dr.P.K.Neog, Director of EEI (NE Region) and Mr.C.Lalnithanga, Director of SAMET!, Mizoram, delivered the keynote address and Course Co-ordinator Ms.Lalthasangi, Faculty (HRD) SAMET!, Mizoram delivered the welcome speech and brief the participants about the training program. 

A total of 59 participants (Male = 34, Female = 25) from AH&Vety, Fisheries, KVK, ATMA, FOCUS, NEIDA middle level officers and extension functionaries successfully completed the training.
